There’s a lot of advice online on how you go about ‘levelling up’ as a guitarist. My advice has always been to do in depth studies on your favourite guitarists. Transcribe them, learn their language and reverse engineer it. So I thought I would start a Study Series and who better to start with than my first ‘love’ so to speak, Eric Clapton.
Journeyman is in my opinion his best album (along with From the Cradle) and Eric is a very underrated player the reasons for which I’ll aim to explain in this study.
I think this study is best suited to beginner or intermediate players looking to learn how to sound more authentic with their improvising language and also of course, to fans of Eric Clapton.
All of the resources on my website are made for free and they do take considerable time & effort.
If you enjoyed and benefit from this Journeyman Study then please do consider donating (no matter how little) as a means of support or you can Buy Me A Coffee here .
Alternatively you could buy my comprehensive yet very reasonably priced ($6.99) books on the CAGED System, Music Theory for Guitar and/or THE MUSIC THEORY MANUAL: BEYOND DIATONIC HARMONY via these links or in my Store at the top of this page where you can also read previews of all 3 books.
Thanks! James.
